What to Expect When You Go for a Screening
All testing is totally free
You will be tested for high blood pressure, kidney disease, and diabetes.
Testing should take approximately thirty minutes.
You’ll receive a sheet with all your test results for you to take home. It’s also a great idea to also share these results with your doctor.
A medical professional will be available to review and discuss your results one-on-one with you before you leave.
A dietitian and social worker usually will be available to answer any questions you might have.
Educational materials on kidney disease will be available.
Special thanks to the foundations past and present who make this free program possible:
We Could Use Your Help!
We have a FULL schedule of screenings, programs, and events and we can sure use some help. There’s something for everyone, so if you’ve ever wanted to volunteer, NOW is a great time!
This program is made possible through grants provided by the San Antonio Area Foundation and the Saint Susie Charitable Foundation. We can’t say thank you enough!
We provided 1569 free screenings in 2016!!! Since 2013, TKF is proud to have provided more screenings than any other non-profit kidney organization in the state.
