A native of Poland, Matthias Kapturczak, MD, is a nephrologist at San Antonio Kidney Disease Center Physicians Group in Texas. He’s board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology and also specializes in transplants.

Dr. Kapturczak attended the Free University of Berlin Medical School in Germany and the Karol Marcinkowski Academy of Medical Sciences in Poland. He completed his fellowship in nephrology at the University of Florida. He was a transplant nephrologist at the Texas Transplant Institute and vice chief of staff at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital in San Antonio.

With a reputation for excellence, Dr. Kapturczak has been honored with the National Kidney Foundation’s Research Fellowship and Young Investigator awards. He was also named one of the San Antonio Business Journal’s “Health Care Heroes” as an outstanding health care executive in a hospital-based setting.

Dr. Kapturczak is a member of the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation, the International Society of Nephrology, and the American Society of Transplantation. He sees patients at the Northwest Clinic in San Antonio and has been described by his patients as knowledgeable, compassionate, and trustworthy.
