WHAT: More than 25 San Antonio kidney disease patients, caregivers, family members and Texas Kidney Foundation representatives will board a bus headed for Austin early Tuesday morning to participate in Kidney Day at the Capitol, an event that was established more than 16 years ago and works to draw public attention to the serious problem of kidney disease in Texas, as well as inform the legislature of the public policy updates needed for those affected by the disease.

These San Antonio individuals attending Kidney Day at the Capitol will be personally educating their state representatives about kidney disease’s prevalence and impacts in Texas and San Antonio in particular, as well as sharing their unique stories and directing questions and concerns about current policies to encourage change.
Attendees will arrive at the VIA Park & Ride Crossroads location by 5 a.m. and the bus will depart at 5:30 a.m. sharp.
