Dr. Marianne Pinkston serves on the Medical Advisory Board of the Texas Kidney Foundation (TKF), bringing more than two decades of experience as a family physician, entrepreneur, and patient advocate. Board-certified in family practice and founder of the Pinkston Medical & Wellness Clinic in San Antonio, she blends conventional medicine with functional and integrative approaches to help patients address the root causes of chronic disease.
Her career took a deeply personal turn after her own diagnoses of rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, autoimmune hepatitis, and cancer. Through integrative care and lifestyle transformation, Dr. Pinkston lost 162 pounds in just over a year and regained her health. This journey reshaped her philosophy and drives her mission to empower patients with tools for prevention, resilience, and long-term wellness.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Pinkston is a recognized voice in health education and advocacy. She serves as Vice Chair of the Arthritis Foundation (South Texas), is a board member and speaker for the Global Pain Association, and holds leadership roles with the San Antonio Women’s Chamber of Commerce. Her influence also extends through media, as host of “The Dr. Pinkston Radio Show” and the nationally syndicated “Better Life with Dr. Pinkston” Podcast, where she inspires audiences with her personal story and expertise in integrative medicine.
Named a Texas Monthly “Super Doc” and honored multiple times as one of San Antonio’s “Best Doctors,” Dr. Pinkston is widely recognized for her compassion and innovation in patient care. At TKF, she contributes her clinical expertise, advocacy, and communication skills to strengthen the Foundation’s prevention-first mission, ensuring that more Texans are empowered to detect, manage, and prevent chronic disease.
