Reverand Patrick Jones

Treasurer

Reverand Patrick Jones brings a unique blend of faith, activism, and community leadership to the Texas Kidney Foundation (TKF) Board. As pastor of Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church on San Antonio’s East Side and former president of the Baptist Ministers’ Union of San Antonio, he has led a coalition of more than 70 congregations in addressing health disparities, public safety, and community empowerment.

His leadership has been most visible in times of crisis and transition. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Rev. Jones mobilized churches into a grassroots distribution network, helping deliver vaccines and vital services to underserved neighborhoods. More than 2,000 residents received life-saving vaccinations through his rapid-response clinics—demonstrating the power of trusted community networks to reach vulnerable populations when formal systems fall short.

Rev. Jones also invests in long-term solutions. As director of the Knowledge is Power (KIP) Community Learning Centers, he oversees a federally funded program serving nearly 700 students across 10 churches. Through tutoring, mentoring, and workforce readiness, he ensures that young people on San Antonio’s East Side have the tools and opportunities to succeed. His partnerships extend to public safety as well, including collaborations with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office to provide active shooter preparedness training for residents.

Guided by the belief that “we are saved to serve,” Rev. Jones embodies TKF’s mission of prevention, education, and empowerment. His ability to bridge institutions with grassroots communities strengthens TKF’s impact statewide, ensuring that kidney health—and broader public health—are advanced with trust, compassion, and action.
